An unexpected treasure
I was helping to clear a friend’s house and came across this Jewish Calendar highlighting the year 5718 or 1958 in the Western World Calendar.
I turned to the month of April and the day of my birth on the 10th! It displays a beautiful painting by Isodor Aschheim of Lake Kinneret (Galilee).

Importance of the Year, 1958
1958 was a pivital year for the 20th Century. The establishment of the European Economic Commission (EEC), creation of the first microchip by Jack Kilby in the USA, and the first open heart surgery by Doctor Barratt-Boyes in Auckland, New Zealand.
However, more important for me is the 10th day of April also signifies the 6th Day of Passover for the Jewish community.
Eve to the Parting of the Red Sea
Passover recalls the Exodus; the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt when Moses led them out of Egypt after 400 years of bondage. Read the full account in Exodus Chapter 14.
The 6th Day serves as the eve of the Seventh Day of Passover, which commemorates the Parting of the Red Sea. Therefore, a time of joyful anticipation.
Below we have an image remembering this miracle of God, setting the captive Israelites free from Pharoah:

Now, this miracle of God for me carries much more meaning. God safeguarded the Israelites 3,500 years ago and He continues to preserve His Chosen People, though much trial and tribulation lie ahead.
This time of testing for Israel will continue until The Time of Jacob’s Trouble, highlighted particularly by the prophet Jeremiah. There will come a time foretold by Zechariah when Israel will look upon the One whom they have pierced, realise their Messiah is indeed Yeshua, and experience true redemption.
And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. [ZECHARIAH 12:10]
A Call to Action
In this day we must not be complacent.
As God set the Israelites free in days past, so He can set you and me free from spiritual captivity, through Messiah Yeshua (Jesus).

The Lord God said to the serpent, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel” (GENESIS 3:15). Here we witness the greatest calamity of Mankind. Adam and Eve chose to disobey an…
