Enmity Between the Seeds

By Nick Dalgety

The Lord God said to the serpent, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel” (GENESIS 3:15).

Here we witness the greatest calamity of Mankind. Adam and Eve chose to disobey an all loving God. They both ate of the cursed tree and now the consequence of this act comes to life.

A judgement on Eve and Adam takes place but first God judges the serpent. He is cursed to crawl on his belly and eat the dust of the earth. Then we read these words where God will put enmity or hatred between the seed (or progeny) of the serpent and the seed of the woman. A mystery in the early days of Man yet understanding of this passage has grown as God’s restorative plan has progressed.

Christians firmly believe this passage refers to the virgin Israelite Mary, who immaculately conceived as prophecied, giving birth to the Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus). The Son of God came to earth, rescuing all sinners who will believe in His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection that took place in Jerusalem 2,000 years ago. This was the bruising of His heel.

The bruising of the head of the seed of the serpent will be in a day fast approaching. Messiah Yeshua is returning and will destroy the serpent, his (Antichrist) son and all who reject the invitation to eternal life that He offers.

The Bible is clear in its loving invitation – choose Life!

Man To Cultivate

Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it (GENESIS 2:15). Right from the start God intended that Man have real purpose in life. Here Man was to cultivate the land and care for the creatures that inhabited the Garden.  There is real…
