Wake up from my slumber:
Does confusion rule in our day? Do we happily eat and drink; buy and sell yet we are spiritually blind to what lies ahead?
As I sat at a cafe yesterday a young man began to yell profanities at me and others seated, deriding us as we sipped our lattes – or flat white in my case!
Although, likely mentally challenged, there was some truth in his words. The urgent need for us to wake up from our slumber and get right with a holy and righteous God.

Although the blood red colour of grapes can speak to blessing, it also speaks to God’s judgement.
Blood Red Blessing:
Turning to Blessing. God’s provision for Israel includes the “pure blood of the grape” and draws from the finest wine of the land [Deuteronomy 32:14].
Blood Red Curse:
Yet God is also coming in Judgment. The Lord is depicted as a lone warrior coming from Edom with “blood-red” robes.
When asked why his clothes are red like one who treads grapes, he answers that he has trodden the “winepress” of his wrath, staining his garments with the lifeblood of his enemies [Isaiah 63:2-3].
This imagery culminates in the final judgment, “great winepress of God’s wrath.” This is where blood flows from the press as high as a horse’s bridle. The Messiah is depicted in a robe “dipped in blood,” fulfilling the role of the judge who treads the winepress [Revelation 14:19–20 & 19:13–15].
Decision time:
Now is the hour to make sure we will receive the blood red blessing and not the judgment. Trust in Him. He will not let you down.

About the Author
Nick Dalgety is a Kiwi born in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. In recent times my wife and I have made Nelson in the top of the South Island home.
My day job involves working with people making a living from land and sea. In my spare time my passion is taking pictures that celebrate what is iconic about Aotearoa New Zealand. Inevitably this involves discovering amazing people, in their special place making and doing what they do best.
When travelling overseas, I often seek out similar experiences. I created Provenance101 to share these experiences.

Enmity Between the Seeds
The Lord God said to the serpent, “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel” (GENESIS 3:15). Here we witness the greatest calamity of Mankind. Adam and Eve chose to disobey an…
