Yeshua (Jesus) chose Shimon bar Yonah (Simon Peter) as one of His apostles. A fisherman by trade to begin with yet after encountering His Messiah at the Sea of Galilee, he became a fisher of men!
Peter was impetuous by nature, displayed on many occasions during the three years of Yeshua’s ministry.
Likely out of fear, we read in the hours leading up to Yeshua’s death that Peter denied knowing his Messiah three times. However in stark contrast he confirmed his love for his Messiah later in life when, along with the Apostle Paul, he was put to death for his faith by Emperor Nero in Rome around 64-68 AD.
Today I would like to draw from one of Peter’s divinely inspired letters where these words are spoken:
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. [2 PETER 3:10]

We read that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. Although dark, the Word is able to shed light in the darkness for those who believe, for the Word is a lamp to our feet.
Where once the earth was deluged with a global flood in the days of Noah – in a coming day, the elements will melt with fervent heat and the earth will be consumed with fire.
The consequence of the sin of Adam and Eve in the Garden will be nullified. God will create new heavens and a new earth for all who believe in Messiah Yeshua.
This is not a fable – rather the truth made known before time for you and me by a loving God.
God is patient, desiring that all place their faith in His Son yet the truth is that judgment is coming.
Can I implore you; make today the day of your salvation!
