Yeshua (Jesus) is my Messiah. He is the Son of Man and the Son of God meaning that He is fully Man and fully God.
Another extremely important truth is that He was, is and will ever be a Jew. One of His names being the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
His Jewish character strikes you as soon as you open the first page of the New Testament. We read in the first verse of Matthew’s Gospel:
The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham
It provides a messianic title page establishing Jesus’ legal and spiritual qualifications to a Jewish audience.
The book of the Geneology (or the Generation) in Hebrew is Sepher Toledot. It refers to a “record of origins” or “account of history,” indicating that Jesus’ life is the “new creation” or a continuation of the story that began in the Old Testament.
Jesus (Yeshua): Derived from the Hebrew Yeshua (or Yehoshua), meaning “Yahweh is salvation” or “The Lord saves”. Later in the Gospel account Matthew clarifies this meaning to be “He will save his people from their sins.”
Christ is the Greek translation of the Hebrew Mashiach (Messiah), meaning “Anointed One”. In Hebrew tradition, kings and priests were anointed with oil to signify they were set apart by God for a specific mission.
Son of David (Ben-David): This title identifies Jesus as the rightful heir to the throne of Israel. Under the Davidic Covenant the Messiah was required to be a direct descendant of King David to rule eternally.
Son of Abraham (Ben-Avraham): This connects Jesus to the Abrahamic Covenant affirming that he is the “seed” through whom “all the nations of the earth will be blessed”.
It establishes His Jewish identity and His role in fulfilling God’s promise to the patriarch.
Remember that He is the promised redemptive seed of the woman and that He would need to battle with the seed of the serpent.
I firmly believe that the ingrained hatred of many today towards the Jewish people, and by extension Israel, is a rebellion of many to the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and His Son.
In similar fashion the unwarranted massacre of Christians since there inception and certainly today, reflects this same spiritual battle.
The serpent of old is working through various proxies, notably jihadist Islam in our day, to destroy Israel and destroy the believing Church.
Consider the pogrom in Israel on 7 October 20231 and the jihadist attack just perpetrated at Bondi Beach in Sydney2 on 14 December 2025! Consider also the massacre of innocent Christians in Nigeria in 2025.
Ignorance is no excuse today. Action required is for you and I to repent and get our affairs in order with our Maker…. before He returns.
