We are really blessed to live only an hours drive from the Abel Tasman National Park. Many visitors from overseas make this a goto destination for bush walking and kayaking.
My wife and I did a short walk in from Marahau to Little Apple Tree Bay. The photo is of a small waterfall that we came across on the way. It is so encouraging to hear more native birdsong following real efforts by volunteer groups to reduce the presence of pests like possum, weasels and stouts.
Water as we know is essential for our survival.
There is an amazing account of Yeshua visiting Jacob’s Well and encountering a Samaritan woman. The meeting is dramatic given that it was not acceptable practice in Yeshua’s day to talk with a woman alone and also with a Samaritan!
Through this encounter the woman realises this is no ordinary man but none other than the promised Messiah!
He shares these words with her:
Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. [John 4:13-14]
You and I can receive that same water offered by Yeshua to the Samaritan woman. Let us not tarry in our response.
