Special time of worship at home

Last night, we had just flown back to Nelson from Wellington after a special time with family.

But we needed to get home, because Jules Riding was in town! Some of you may not know Jules. What about I introduce him to you through his music; have a listen to his song, Take It To The Cross:

The trials of life

In this song Jules shares honestly about trials experienced in his own life journey.

I think we can all in some way identify with his experiences. Like the lyrics, my pain is overwhelmingthe darkness like a blanketI’m surrounded by cynicism and – my broken heart is aching.

The way out; take it to the cross

When faced with each of these trials he says, Take It To The Cross!

The Cross; an evil device created by the Roman Empire to execute cruel judgment on malefactors. However, in this case they chose to execute an innocent man. Not just any man but; The Man.

That Man was Yeshua (Jesus). The innocent blood He shed on this wooden cross can atone for my sin. He turned this evil symbol into a symbol of redemption.

He can wash me clean. Isaiah the prophet wrote of this cleansing, here. Yet this cleansing is available only to those who believe – who have placed their faith in Him.

Jules’ lyrics highlight some amazing natural images in scripture that reflect Yeshua’ ability to bring real healing like, the Balm of Gilead, the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the Valley and Rivers of cleansing.

Remember, Yeshua took the spiritual debt of our sins and nailed it to his cross.

Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. [COLOSSIANS 2:14]

Now is the hour to…. take it to the cross.

About the Author

Nick Dalgety is a Kiwi born in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. In recent times my wife and I have made Nelson in the top of the South Island home.

My day job involves working with people making a living from land and sea. In my spare time my passion is taking pictures that celebrate what is iconic about Aotearoa New Zealand. Inevitably this involves discovering amazing people, in their special place making and doing what they do best.

When travelling overseas, I often seek out similar experiences. I created Provenance101 to share these experiences.
