By Nick Dalgety
I created a photo book to highlight some of the important events in God’s dealings with Man. The creation of the heavens and the earth, Man created, Man’s fall, and then the early outworking of God’s plan to restore a right relationship between God and Man.
We see how the God of the Bible chooses Abram, a man out of Chaldea, who is destined to father a nation. There is a time of trial in Egypt for this people.
God hears their cry of distress and chooses Moses, to lead them out of captivity, through the desert wilderness and to the edge of the promised land.
Joshua, a man of great courage, then leads the Hebrews into the promised land the people seek after a worldly king – they choose Paul though he falls from grace. Then the magnificent reign of David. Solomon his son follows and he oversees the building of the first temple in Jerusalem.
Israel waxes and wanes through the centuries in its commitment to God. God sends His prophets to warn the people, saying they must return to Him in obedience. Finally judgment comes, culminating in the destruction of the temple in 585 BC by the Babylonians.
The people are dispersed, yet to return to Jerusalem after the 70 years of captivity in Babylon. The temple is restored, though a spiritual barrenness pervades the Land.
Who is able to restore the people to a right relationship with God? The need for a Messiah. I developed another photo book to bring to life this Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus). He comes as prophesied, a suffering servant to die for our sins – for both Jew and Gentile.
The final book I created highlights His imminent return, as a conquering King – to gather to Himself those who believe in Him and to judge those who reject Him.

About the Author
Nick Dalgety is a Kiwi born in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. In recent times my wife and I have made Nelson in the top of the South Island home.
My day job involves working with people making a living from land and sea. In my spare time my passion is taking pictures that celebrate what is iconic about Aotearoa New Zealand. Inevitably this involves discovering amazing people, in their special place making and doing what they do best.
When travelling overseas, I often seek out similar experiences. I created Provenance101 to share these experiences.
